We have a real chance to improve group homes
but only if we all work together! Will you join us?
Oregon group homes are underfunded and understaffed, staff turnover is too high, abuse and neglect can go unreported, and the quality of support is suffering. Oregonians with developmental disabilities deserve better.
We’re on the move to improve group homes together! DSPs and consumers testified March 7 on two key bills (HB 2684 & HB 2685) that would
- Reduce staff turnover and improve support quality by raising wages.
- Ensure that staffing is sufficient to meet the needs in each ISP.
- Ensure that people with developmental disabilities have a real choice about where they live.
- Strengthen whistle-blower protections for workers who report abuse.
- Require group home owners to report how they spend residents’ Medicaid funds.
Help people with developmental disabilities win better support services.
Help group home workers win better jobs.
